Did you know that Battle Pond is one of the most popular event at Maker Faire? We’re so excited to announce that it’ll be coming to North County Mini Maker Faire this year!

If you have not seen Battle Pond before, imagine a 50′ x 50′ arena with about 2 ft of water for RC controlled boats to move around and sink each other with plastic pellets. The event draws in thousands of spectators at Bay Area Maker Faire each year.

We were lucky to have this full battle at Maker Faire San Diego two years ago, but this is the first time that we’ll be having the full size arena at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum. We are so grateful that our partners at the museum are so supportive of this exhibit. After days of surveying the museum grounds to find a flat spot for the pond and nearly giving up, our WONDERFUL museum host decided that she can flatten out a dirt area to meet the specs of the arena just so we can have it for the Faire! It gets even better. After we are done with the pond, all of the water in the pond will be recycled to water the plants in the museum’s garden.
